Siu SOTE organization grant 2024
The North Karelia Welfare Region granted an organizational grant to the Joensuu Region Multicultural Association for 2024.
Organizational assistance strengthens the mental resilience of those participating in our organization's activities.
The topic is topical in the changed social and global situation. JoMoni ry's activities involve clients with immigrant and refugee backgrounds in particular. They come from diverse situations, backgrounds and language groups. However, what they have in common is that living in Finland requires people to learn new habits, be flexible and adapt to new situations. These factors alone require mental resources.
In addition, wars, disasters and crisis situations place a demand on those in a particularly vulnerable position to identify and strengthen their resilience to crises. Previous studies have found, among other things, that a resilient individual strengthens the resilience of the entire region. This strengthens community spirit and strengthens the regional ability to face changes.
At the organizational level, the aim is to strengthen the mental operational and crisis resilience of our target groups by identifying resilience as a phenomenon and, at the individual level, when it is needed and how it is developed and maintained.
The funding will be used to develop multilingual communication, dialogue and promote new learning. Concrete measures to strengthen resilience include open and free training and discussion situations. We will also produce digital, multilingual material to strengthen mental resilience to support individuals and communities.
