You can also tell us about your issue using the form below.
Please describe the events in as much detail as possible (when, where, who was present, what happened, how you would like to be responded to). Any information we receive will help us to investigate the matter.
The working group is processing all messages it receives. We are considering how to act in the situation and are trying to clarify the matter. We will contact you if you give us your contact information. You can also leave your message anonymously. You can write in any language. We are looking for a translator who understands your issue.
If you have become aware of a racist crime, contact the police emergency service . The Crime Victims' Emergency Service (RIKU) helps victims, their loved ones and witnesses to the crime, for example, in filing a crime report. It is worth telling the police even if the perpetrator is unknown or you do not believe that the perpetrator will be caught. The information helps the police get a complete picture of the situation and improve surveillance and prevention. If someone's health or safety is threatened, call the general emergency number 112 immediately.
However, it is not always clear whether an action is racist or for some reason you do not want to contact the police. Maybe you just want to tell someone about it or you do not want to share your name. In this case, contact the Joensuu region anti-racism working group.
