RAMPPI-project 2024-2025

Working together for the well-being and safety of young people

The Joensuu Region Multicultural Association (JoMoni) is participating as a partner in the RAMPPI project of the Lieksa Somali Family Association, which will be implemented in 2024–2025 with funding from the Ministry of Justice. The aim of the project is to develop regional preventive work against radicalization in North Karelia and, in cooperation with actors, create a sustainable operating model to promote the well-being and safety of young people.

The RAMPPI project focuses specifically on the root causes that can expose young people to radicalization, such as loneliness, bullying experiences, insecurity, mental health challenges and feelings of exclusion. The aim is to strengthen youth inclusion, create safe communities and provide preventive support measures together with different actors.
The project also involves organizations operating in the North Karelia region that complement and support social and healthcare services with their activities that promote well-being. Cooperation will be intensified and a regional operating model will be created on its basis, in which the roles and tasks of different parties will be clarified.

During the project, local and regional events and working meetings will be organized, where cooperation will be built in practice. The voice of young people will be brought to the fore through a survey, which will help to make their experiences and views part of the project's development work. This way, young people are not only the target of the activity, but also involved as active influencers.

The RAMPPI project collaboration offers an opportunity to strengthen community, prevent exclusion and promote long-term security in North Karelia. Together we can create a better and safer future for the young people in our region.
