JoMoni ry is involved as a partner.
The project is related to supporting the integration of immigrants from third countries. The goal is to strengthen the knowledge of regions and municipalities on how to raise sexual rights and equality with immigrants, and to strengthen the awareness of those in the integration process about equality and sexual rights. Authorities, immigration units and integration professionals, as well as immigrant associations and local NGOs will cooperate in the project.
Sexual rights refer to the power to decide about one's own sexuality. Integration is helped by knowing the customs related to sexuality and gender roles. Understanding reduces conflicts and makes it easier to function in Finland. In addition, mastering the vocabulary related to sexuality and sexual health and becoming familiar with services helps to maintain and promote well-being. Sexual rights include respecting the rights of others. The state also has a responsibility to ensure that everyone's rights are protected and that violations of rights are addressed.
