Jomoni ry

The Joensuu Region Multicultural Association (JoMoni) is an organization founded in early 2009 that promotes multiculturalism in the Joensuu region.

JoMoni works against racism and monitors the interests of immigrants. We want to promote respect and dialogue between people. JoMoni is open to everyone. It organizes cultural events and sports opportunities. Through JoMoni, you can get information about how society works and get involved in civic activities. Immigrants themselves are actively involved in deciding on matters related to the association's activities. JoMoni has over 170 members.

JoMoni takes the side of immigrants.

Advocacy is an important part of JoMon's activities. We promote the realization of immigrants' rights and make immigrants' voices heard in society.

We work for a multicultural society at local, regional and national levels.
JoMoni's advocacy work focuses on the following themes, among others: Finnish language training for immigrants, residence permit issues, advice for immigrants and anti-racism work.
